Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew adjust visiting hours on April 23, with public paying of respects to Queen Sirikit’s remains suspended all day

The Bureau of the Royal Household has announced adjustments to visiting arrangements at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram for Thursday, April 23, 2026, due to a royal merit-making ceremony.

According to the announcement, a Thaksina Nupathan (Kongtek) ceremony will be held in dedication to the royal remains of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

  • During this period, tickets for entry to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew will be available for purchase only between 8.30am and 12 noon.
  • The Bureau also stated that public access to pay respects to the royal remains at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall will be suspended throughout the entire day.

Visitors are advised to plan their visits accordingly.
