We witnessed the mess on the Krabi road to Koh Lanta. The cause appeared to be speeding. The Chiang Mai crash appears to be due to faulty brakes.
There are a few dangerous roads, but there are thousands of awful examples of dreadful driving and vehicles unfit for the road.
It was not the road – more the standards of vehicle and driver.
