Thai Airways to cut multiple domestic and international flights in May as fuel costs rise

Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) has notified ticket agents that it may adjust its schedules by reducing flight frequencies in May 2026 across domestic routes and services to Asia and Europe, citing sharply higher fuel costs and softer passenger demand during the low season.

In a notice issued on Friday, the airline said it has prepared options to help agents and passengers manage the changes.

Domestic routes

• Khon Kaen: reduced from 4 flights/day to 3 flights/day (May 1-31, 2026)
• Udon Thani: reduced from 3 flights/day to 2 flights/day (May 1-31, 2026)
• Ubon Ratchathani: reduced from 2 flights/day (14 flights/week) to 12 flights/week (May 5-28, 2026)

Asia routes

ASEAN

• Phnom Penh: reduced from 2 flights/day (14 flights/week) to 11 flights/week (May 2-30, 2026)
• Singapore: reduced from 5 flights/day to 4 flights/day (May 2-31, 2026)

North Asia

• Tokyo (Narita): reduced from 3 flights/day to 2 flights/day (May 11-31, 2026, except May 29)
• Beijing: reduced from 2 flights/day to 1 flight/day (May 7-31, 2026, except May 29)
• Shanghai: reduced from 2 flights/day to 1 flight/day (May 11-31, 2026, except May 30)
• Seoul (Incheon): reduced from 3 flights/day to 1 flight/day (May 8-31, 2026)
• Taipei: reduced from 3 flights/day to 2 flights/day (May 6-31, 2026)
• Hong Kong: reduced from 4 flights/day to 3 flights/day (May 6-31, 2026)
• Kaohsiung: suspended (previously 1 flight/day) (May 8-31, 2026)

South Asia

• Hyderabad: reduced from daily (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (May 4-27, 2026)
• Delhi: reduced from 22 flights/week to 21 flights/week (May 1-29, 2026)
• Mumbai: reduced from 2 flights/day to 1 flight/day (May 1-31, 2026)

Europe routes

• Istanbul: reduced from daily (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (May 11-27, 2026)
• Frankfurt: reduced from 2 flights/day (14 flights/week) to 12 flights/week (May 18-27, 2026)
• Munich: reduced from daily (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (May 19-28, 2026)
• Copenhagen: reduced from daily (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (May 18-27, 2026)
• Oslo: reduced from daily (7 flights/week) to 5 flights/week (May 18-27, 2026)
